Alright honey, just don't let your friends overcome your studies, mom says and softly runs my cheek, before returning to the dishes. I say sadly and take a bite out of an apple slice and continue studying on my Spanish. No, I'm fine, I was just waiting for a call. You've been staring at the phone for 15 minutes, you haven't even touched your apple slices, she says and pushes the plate with apple slices on towards me.

Violet honey, is something wrong? Mom asks me. I stare sadly at the family phone across the kitchen table, where I am currently sitting and doing my homework. I see the note on the floor, so I pick it up and grab the home phone, before frantically dialing Violets number. 45 past 6!?!? Oh no! I say to myself before scrambling around with my books to get the note and running after the phone, which got lost somewhere in the studying mess. I didn't even consider looking at the clock. I have such a flow in studying today so once I considered myself "done" with Spanish, so I have something to ask Violet, I continued with my history essay and then my math homework. Might as well do some good while I wait, I think and start studying. So I let out a Huff of breath before pulling up my Spanish books and notes from my backpack. Then I look at the clock, and it's still an hour till she told me to call. I get home and place my backpack next to my table in my room as I sit down and look at the number again. Wow, you really look like a lovesick puppy, he says. My hand was up in the air still, and I didn't notice until one of my friends tug it downwards. She smiles and waves at me, before jumping into the car, and they drive off. She stops in her tracks at opening the car door and looks back at me. Uh, hey Violet! I say and raise my hand at her. C'mon, talk to her! One of my friends says. Which was weird, none of us had seen her before this, it was like she came out of nowhere. Suddenly I hear a car honk again and Violet runs past me. School ends and my friends all joke with me as we walk out of school. I couldn't help but to smile like a goof. Call me at 6, she smiles and walks out of the classroom. I wave at Violet that waves back, before sitting down.Ĭlass goes by and Violet approaches my table and leaves a sticky note on my desk. It was Spanish and the day I'd finally get Violet's number. Sure! Uhm, I'll give you my number next Spanish lesson! I have to go! Bye! She says and walks quickly outside when she hears a car horn honking from outside.Īs she disappears, I smile to myself and walk towards the doors and get myself home. Would you maybe have time to help me study sometime? For the Spanish test, I mean, I ask. She turns around and looks puzzled at me. Anytime! She says and walks around me towards the doors. I know we have a test next Thursday, but I need a reason to talk to her. Yeah, Uhm, I was just wondering if you know about any upcoming Spanish tests? I lie. Y/N, right? You're in my Spanish class, she says. She takes a deep breath before smiling back at me. Oh, so you can talk! Not that I, I mean, thought that you. I'm insane! I need to go home or-or change directions, something!' My head shouts at me, but before I can react, she closes her locker and spots me. 'What am I doing? Am I really about to do this. When I get to her locker I stop in my tracks. I grab my things and followed her to her locker. School ended and I decided that I should finally talk to her. Some popular girl drama, but it wasn't something people weren't used to. We're in the same Spanish class and she sits right in front of me, but I've never said a word to her.

Her black hair was shining in the sun as it came through some small clouds. I could easily get homeschooled, but there was one person making it worthwhile.
